Jeanene LeSure

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me’.” – Erma Bombeck

Get to Know Me

Jeanene joins the Pioneer Medical Group team with a wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills from a 16-year career with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). She began her career in healthcare as a Recreation Therapist specializing in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Services at Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta and with the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, and quickly advanced to serving as a national Program Director with VA Central Office’s National Veterans Sports Programs & Special Events. During her tenure, she coordinated annual multi-sport and recreation events for Veterans of all ages across the country, managing acquisitions, developing strategic partnerships, engaging community volunteers, facilitating leadership development strategies, and overseeing more than 60 planning committees and multiple projects each year. Notably, you may recognize Jeanene’s name from serving as the Local Coordinator who hosted more than 600 disabled Veterans for the 2013 National Veterans Wheelchair Games right here in downtown Tampa!

In her role as the Executive Administrative Assistant, Jeanene will directly support the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Jeanene received a bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation and a Certificate in Dance in Healing from the University of Florida (Go Gators! 😊) in May 2004. In July 2024, Jeanene will also complete a Graduate Certificate Program in Nonprofit Management offered through a partnership between the University of Tampa and the Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay.

She is very much an outgoing person. When not working, she and her husband, their daughter, and niece are likely to be enjoying the great outdoors by kayaking, swimming, camping, horseback riding, traveling the world, and engaging in other adventure-filled activities.
