Get to Know Me
Teaching inpatient medicine to family medicine residents is a privilege that I cherish, as I believe in preparing the next generation of healthcare providers to deliver top-tier care.
My journey in medicine began at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, the oldest historically black medical school in the country. Recognizing the urgency of addressing the obesity epidemic, I pursued a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and acquired certification in functional medicine. Currently, I am preparing to sit for the obesity medicine boards to further enhance my expertise.
Throughout my 29 years in the medical field, I’ve gained diverse experiences, from private practice to civilian medicine with the Department of Defense, urgent care, and occupational medicine. Alongside Dr. Harold E. Phillips, Jr., MD, I co-own Phillips Medical Consultants, where we strive to provide exceptional healthcare services to our patients.
On a personal note, Dr. Harold Phillips and I have raised three amazing children together. Besides my professional endeavors, I’m an author, health expert, international motivational speaker, and educator. My life’s purpose is to empower individuals to make positive health choices despite their current health challenges. I firmly believe that with the right guidance and information, everyone has the potential to achieve better health outcomes.
