Get to Know
Dr. McCoy has been a Hospitalist with Pioneer Medical Group since 2020. He was born in Dayton, Ohio but largely grew up in Jacksonville, Florida after relocating in 1992. He attended the University of Florida where he graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences. He obtained his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed his internal medicine residency at Largo Medical Center.
Dr. McCoy began his career working in the community as a primary care physician for nearly 5 years. He joined Pioneer Medical Group as a Hospitalist in June of 2020 at North Pinellas. He served as Associate Medical Director at the facility before assuming the role of Medical Director. He currently serves as the Chair of the Credentials Committee as well as a member of the Medical Executive Committee. He is also currently participating in the Advent Health Leadership Fellowship.
Dr. McCoy enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and children (Audrey (4) and Clay (7)). He enjoys traveling, attending concerts, exercising, hiking, leisure reading, and watching collegiate and professional sports, particularly football.
